Independence Day Ride - Hyderabad-Gulbarga-Bijapur-Jog Falls-Dudhsagar Falls-Pune - Day 1

Day 1 - Hyderabad - Zaheerabad - Gulbarga - Jevargi - Sindagi - Bijapur
With an amazing birthday party weekend at Suryalanka beach,it was time for me to bid adieu and leave back to Pune with slight diversions and sight seeing enroute .Plan of visiting dudhsagar was going on from long time and after missing it for last two years, finally all of us(pune gang) made it to Dudhsagar this year.Every year someone or other has some other plans, office, girlfriends or no leaves..this time we came up with no excuse policy and man-o-man what a fun ride this was
While the entire Gang was starting from Pune..I was starting up from Hyderabad. My love and fascination towards history and historical architecture is the one who took me to Bijapur and Gulbarga.I was riding very easy and relaxed as i had entire day today and half day tomorrow..just to reach Belgaum to meet the rest of the lot.
Road condition till Zaheerabad was good and beyond that it was full of Potholes.Every vehicle plying on the route were driving/riding zig-zag forcing each other to fall in hell-hole of rim bend .My dhanno survived all this and we went off the Hyderabad-Solapur highway to move towards Gulbarga.Road condition became much much better.
I reached Gulbarga and stopped for tea, main purpose of stopping was to inquire about the the must visit places.Chai wala and other folks came up with two suggestions..'Gulbarga Fort' and 'Tombs of Shamshah-al-din,Ghiyas-al-din etc'
First on the list were the tombs,as they were on the way as you enter the city
These are the tombs of Shams-Al-Din,Ghiyas-Al-Din and Dawood shah. One cannot go inside as the doors were locked and some patch up work was on progress.
Some history about these sultans as stated in the ASI boards at the site.Shams-al-din was a weak ruler, who was forced to step down due to internal strife. He was blinded and then allowed to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca where he died in 1378 AD.His brother Ghiyas-Al-Din succeeded him but was also overthrown and blinded after being in power for mere 1 month and 26 days. The tombs of these short-reigning sultans are built as they are one building.Sharing the same basement ,they both shows tuglaqh influences in the battlements that line the roof placed at each corner.

Verdant Maharashtra – Tripping around Bhor – Day 2

Day 2 - Bhor - Panchgani - Medha - Bhilar - Pune

For today it was decided to go Kaas plateau via Medha route instead of the conventional Satara-Bamnoli-Kaas route.
I took the Mandhar devi ghat to reach Wai,which was quite scenic and view from top of the ghats was enchanting.

Verdant Maharashtra – Tripping around Bhor – Day 1 - PART 4

When you ride alone on these unchalked roads, there is no certainty whether you will end up as you have thought or planned. My plan of exploring ahead ended with the same fate. When i reached Kumbale after struggling on the bad roads, the road ahead simply disappeared. It was an dead end.Even though it does not ended as i expected i enjoyed riding to and fro, thanks to the beautiful weather and the greenery around.

Verdant Maharashtra – Tripping around Bhor – Day 1 - PART 3

With Torna being ruled out as the destination of the day,I was clueless where to head next.I was assuming the road which is going ahead is going to lead me somewhere near Varanda ghats. Was i right or Was i wrong,Lets find out.

I followed the road and kept on moving ahead.meanwhile one more waterfall.

A ghat section in between

Verdant Maharashtra – Tripping around Bhor – Day 1 - PART 2

Important thing about this trip was that my bike was lying in Hyderabad and i had to borrow my roommates R15 for the trip,Also my DSLR was in HYD as well so all the photos in thread are captured by my humble S3.Road which was taking me Torna was running around the periphery of reservior,It was such a bliss riding along with such beautiful sights. Finally i had to leave Panshet backwaters behind and move forward towards Torna.

Verdant Maharashtra – Tripping around Bhor – Day 1 - PART 1

Day 1 - Pune - Khadawasla - Panshet - Torna - Madhe Ghats - Bhor

To be back on those not so traveled roads,To be back on those virgin trails in Maharashtra..There can't be any better season than Monsoon, where entire state turns into a heavenly paradise.Mountains covered with Green Bed,countless waterfalls,Black sky,Confined water bodies and foggy ghat sections. What more you can ask for from life when you have such natural beauty at every other corner.

I reached Khadakwasla Dam which is a Popular spot for weekend fun with friends and family. Its easy accessibility from every corner in Pune makes it as top monsoon destination after Lonavla and Khandala.

Pune to Hyderabad Run with Srisailam Package - DAY 3

Day 3 - Giddalur - Nandyal - Kurnool - Miapur (HYD)

There was no rush on reaching home,so the ride was started with ease and i was on the road at 10 AM.Today was election day and i can clearly see people on groups having serious discussions and many cops on the road maintaining law and order .Soon i was riding in the dense forest area of Nallamala. There was an abandoned railway bridge which runs along the road.

The entire stretch was a pleasure to ride..with smooth roads, amazing greenery and beautiful landscapes.

Pune to Hyderabad Run with Srisailam Package - DAY 2

Day 2 - Hyderabad - Srisailam - Giddalur

Monday was spent resting and being bored alone in HMT Colony,Miapur. So for next day i decided to head out for Srisailam. Also there was a big fuss about being Srisailam Dam gates opening in the next day afternoon.I was like, why people are so excited about it.But when i witnessed with my own eyes,i got bowled by the beauty of it and realized the importance of the excitement.

I took Outer Ring Road to reach the Srisailam exit and Srisailam was around 200 Kms far from there.Ring road was in brilliant condition and I had a very good time ripping and riding on the wide and flawless ring road, but later i came to know that bikes are not allowed in it

Road to Srisailam was a bliss to ride. Scratch less Wide Single lane with no traffic.
