Once Upon A Time In THAILAND !!!

DAY 1 - MUMBAI TO BANGKOK

We booked the tickets 3 months before the journey date in Indian Airlines, it costed us around 15K to and fro for one person. Can’t explain and express how exited I was. I Spent those 3 months counting each day, each hour

Then the day came, we boarded the IA flight at 00:15 Hrs from Mumbai International Airport to Bangkok (Psst - My first journey on a plane and that too international: D: D). For the money matters, we had done the currency exchange from an Agent in Mumbai only. And trust me that was the best deal we got.

Smooth took off, some draught beers to kill the time and an ultra smooth landing.Wuhoo !! We reached bangkok, Suvarnabhumi Airport.Damn that airport looked huge and yeah it was.

We entered in the airport and went straight to the Visa counter (For BKK its Visa on arrival). All they need is your passport, you return journey tickets and couple of passport sized photograph. Wait did I said passport size photograph

Both of us didn't had any passport size photograph. Luckily there was a '2 min passport size photo shop, where we ended paying up 100-100 baht for the photos.Oh ! What a start

For staying and all we had done booking in advance. Took the prepaid taxi and went to Khao San road.Khao San road is famous for its cheap food,booze,neat-clean-cheap accomodation, cheap massage and other untold cheap things :P

So the whole day was spent to enjoy and cherish all those cheap things.

DAY 2 - BANGKOK SAFARI

When you enter in Bangkok city, you will be amazed and surprised about the loud pipe's sounds. For once you will think that, another maniac gone wild with a free flow exhaust. But then you finally end up seeing a Tuk-Tuk (Autorikshaw).Damn those things were sweet in sound and fast in speed and ofcourse very comfortable in seating. And yeah there was no 'Escape rod' on the either side.

Ok, we booked a Tuk-Tuk for free to roam around the temples near-by. Yes you read it right free..Word we Indian’s love the most

Actually there is a condition for it... they take you on a free ride to the near by temples or the tourist places but then you have to visit the shops, they had tie-up with. These shops pay them free gasoline if they bring customers to their shops.

So this is the whole story behind the free ride.
We went to Reclining Buddha and standing Buddha temple in between saw the democracy monument as well.
Some snapshots from Reclining Buddha temple and standing Buddha temple.

Reclining Buddha

So the first half of the day was spended visiting temples and doing the religious activities. Now it was time to visit the shops for the sake of Tuk-Tuk wala and the free ride.He took us to a marble shop, the shop was good and I purchased some stuff for my Gfriend(I never got a chance to give those stuff to her ) and Mom.

Later we went to an cloth shop and the owner and all the workers were Indian there. Firstly they politely asked us to buy an kurtha-pajama,later they became less polite and at the end when we denied from buying anything from them. They were like you have to buy it. we turned our back and ran from their and asked Tuk-TUk wala to drop us at the MBK mall.Yeah it was time for some shopping before we run out of the cash. Mall looked huge from outside.

Huge Thai Lady I guess  :D

Mall was very big and was like a "BHOOL BHULAIYA"

First thing first, we went to the clothes section. Me and my frnd bought some 4-5 Abercrombie and fitch t-shirts for 250 Bahts each.Damn cheap. Actually Bargaining is the key out there, and Indians are the best on this art.

You can find each and everything out there in the mall from A-Z.You name it and you will get it
From Rolex watches to DSLR's..From LCD Tv's to PS3's ..All dirt cheap.

Time just flied away and it was evening, we took a TUK-TUK to head back to our base..Khao Saan road.

Went to a Pub which had live music, boozed till the mid-night and went back back to hotel for the rest of nite.Spotted some choppers in the night.

Day 3 - Floating Market

Started Day 3 with a strong black coffe,to kill the hang over.

Yesterday evening we booked a ride to Floating market from a nearby shop... of a Travel Agent,Floating market was 2-3 hours drive from the Khao San road.

Van came at 7 AM sharp for the pick-up.Actually this early morning ride was to avoid the traffic. There were 7-8 more peoples with us.

After running on the highway for 2-3 hours we finally reached the dock, from where we had to board in a long boat.without any delay all of us jumped into the boat and we started off for the floating market.
Admist the Backwater routes..Corners

I liked her tattoo

Finally arrived
Another lot coming by

30 mins long boat ride and we were at the floating market.we had 2 hours to visit the place and then come back to rendezvous.

Busy market

Fabulous art

And a mobile soup shop..We had 2-3 types of soups from here. They were very spicy

This place was flocking with the tourists.
Some art work at display.

Came back from the market by 3 PM,Plan was to stay back in the bangkok for few more days and visit the grand palace and rest of the known and famous temples. But got an message from an wise friend of mine (spiderweb - Rohit). That don't waste your time in bangkok,go to Pattaya and have fun.

So we checked out from the hotel and booked 2 seats in a van for Pattaya

I must say roads(highways) in thailand are very good, and the traffic sense was pretty good too.Pattaya is another 5-6 hours journey by road.We had done the reservation in Sawasdi Siam hotel for 4 nights and 3 days.

Pattaya is a pretty cool place, filled where streets were filled with the bars, girls, ladboys and ofcourse tourist.Night life is very much happening here,as compared to bangkok. Also you can see idol of Ganesha at many place.Thai people worship Ganesha :O,That was a new thing to me.

We ended up in a pool bar. There you can play the pool with the girl of your choice .
came back to the hotel at 2-3 am..and crashed to bed.

Day 4 - In and around Pattaya

On day 4, we woke up bit late.Bit late means by 12:00 noon.
After doing the regular morning must do things ..we left for the beach.Which was 15-20 mins walk from the hotel.
Swimming Pool

Nice clean room

Finally we reached at the beach, the beach had good long stretch and clean water.
we also saw some shops renting Superbikes, scooters and cruisers.Me and amitav decided to go out there later and rent out some SBK's.
Meanwhile we took a splash at the beach and had some beers.
All type of water sports activity were also there, but we didn't showed much interest in that.Better save the bahts for the other better things :P

Amitav chilling at the beach

Meeee

Beach side hotels recommended for stay, bit costly though.

Honda - Phantom

It was almost evening and we were damn hungry, went to KFC which was very close to the beach.Saw an Indian fella promoting an Indian restaurant, thought of having dal tadka and rice there..but it was bit costly.

Had some crispy-Yummy-delicious chicken at KFC and went to the bike renting shop. For SBK's 1000 Baht's for 2 days,Amitav said "better rent a scooter".

Also saw plenty of peoples selling weed(Marijuana) publickly, one packet for 10baht.
So we rented two scooty's for 2 days with a nominal charge,we had to give him some deposit though.
Went back to hotel and had a bath.It was almost dark, later we went to the very famous Walking Street.

Sat on a open bar, where a thai,Kick boxing show was going on.There was a regular fighter and anyone from the crowd can challenge him.An big(not fat) english fella challenged the Boxer for the fight. The boxer was like ant in front of that big guy.But the Big fella got beaten very badly

We boozed at different different places till midnight, and then came back to the hotel.

Here's the free pool
It's safe at night

Day 5 - In and around Pattaya Part 2

Day 5 was very well spent as compared to the other days. We roamed a lot.... in and around the city. Did some water sport activities, go-carting and lots of other stuff.

First we went to the beautiful coastal line, rode from the entry till the exit, in between took some beer breaks at the beach ..Thank god there were no Drunk-Drvie checking. One thing I noticed about Thailand is..This place is very tourist friendly and the cops are helping as well.

At the start of Marine drive

Beer break at the beach

Other end of the Marine drive

Go Carting - As far as I remember the charge for 1 person was 250 Bahts
Back to walking street, another heaven on the earth. Full of gorgeous ladies.

Fell in love with this girl ..She was so cuteeeeeeeeeee

So, most of the day spent in roaming and enjoying variety of stuff’s. In the evening we went to couple of Go-Go bars and European Bars.

Had some great fun out there. Then back to hotel in the midnight. And yeah one thing I forgot to mention, that there is a local term for *ex which is used out there.."BOOM BOOM"

Day 6 - Last Day in Pattaya and Back to Bangkok

Our last day in pattaya :( . I wish I could have stayed more.

Wise people say's Good times never last long. We bid adieu to the beautiful city Pattaya and left for the Bangkok.

This time we took the Govt Transport Bus, which was way cheaper than the Cab or Shared Van. It took the same time 4-5 hours to reach BKK.

While boarding off from the Bus we met two Delhi fella's, we got mixed up quickly and first thing we did to take ahead our friendship is, we booked a cab in sharing.

We had already booked accommodation for us, this time we booked a Hotel in Sukhumvit road. Why not Khao-san ??...As Airport is bit near from this place. Also another happening place Phatpong was quite near from there.

Phatpong is also known for its night life, Market and GO - GO bars.

We had some shopping pending, so after checking in to the hotel..We quickly went to the MBK mall.

After the shopping fiesta, all four of us went to Phatpong. We spent our whole night at Phatpong, Sukhumvit road and near by areas..Chilling, roaming and having Chit-chats. Then we met some Siberian girls, they were very very beautiful.

Four of us...

So we didn't slept for the whole night. In the morning took a cab and left for the airport.

Reached airport on time, as I hate being late ;)..Checked into the waiting area with the basic formalities done. Now it was time for some booze shopping. We bought some Bacardi Gold rum(2 for 1000 Baht),jack Daniel,Black Label on dirt cheap rates. Whatever Baht we were left with, we spended them all and purchased booze (total 4 bottles, as 2 bottle per person is allowed to carry) and chocolates.

And the time came to say a final Good-Bye, We bided a Bye-Bye to Bangkok..With a promise to be back very soon.

Here ends the tale of two young fellas, who went on a Adventurous quest to the land of Elephants, the land of Beautiful hearted country men’s, the land who holds the beauties of Virgin Islands... and many more things which can't be binded in words.

Cheers
Biru
